Today I would like to share with you a recipe for a tropical chai body treat that your skin (and nose) will just love.

Anyone who reads my blog knows that I love chai tea.  My favorite brand is Yogi Tea’s Organic Chai Rooibos.  It’s delicious when steeped for about 5 mins., and then with added organic soy milk and organic, raw honey: heaven.  Pure yum, and so nutritive.  If I had the time, I would experiment with recipes and make chai myself from scratch with cardamom pods, cinnamon chips, rooibos, and other goodies.


To make the Tropical Chai Body Treat, you only need 3 ingredients:

1 cup Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

2-3 Chai Teabags (Any good brand would suffice.)

1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract or Paste

For a slower, naturally infused process:  Place your coconut oil in a clear glass jar.  If solid, melt in the microwave until it’s slightly liquefied, but not too hot.   Cut open tea bags and pour chai tea into the coconut oil.  Stir well.  Screw on the lid and place the jar in your window sill or on your porch for direct sunlight.  Stir or shake the jar everyday.  After 4-6 weeks, strain out the tea, return the oil to the jar, stir in the vanilla, and enjoy your tropical chai body treat: coconut, chai spice, and vanilla = yum!

For a quicker process:  Place coconut oil in a pot over low heat.  Cut open tea bags and pour chai tea into the coconut oil.  Stir well and heat for 45 mins. to an hour to allow the chai to steep into the coconut oil.  Remove the oil and let it cool for 30 mins.  Strain, then stir in the vanilla.  Pour into a jar and enjoy your tropical chai body treat.
